When searching library databases, you'll find articles that are available in the database as PDF or HTML files. In some cases, there is no article, but a yellow "find it" button will give you a chance to see if the articles can be found in another database. If not, and it's a really useful article, we can get it from another library, usually within 48 hours.
The government funds much of the basic scientific research conducted in this country. It also examines energy policy issues in Congressional hearings, reports from various agencies, and in setting budget priorities.
If you are looking for government documents, type your search terms into a Google search and add site:.gov. You may find a mix of state and local government sources as well as federal and foreign sites - but it helps focus your search.
Try also clicking "search tools" above your results and focus on sites from the most recent year.

U.S. Deprtment of Energy - "The mission of the Energy Department is to ensure America’s security and prosperity by addressing its energy, environmental and nuclear challenges through transformative science and technology solutions."
National Renewable Energy Laboratory - "the U.S. Department of Energy's primary national laboratory for renewable energy and energy efficiency research and development. "
