ABSTRACT:
The Gustavus Adolphus Athletic Association collection contains minutes and financial records. The bulk of materials are from 1911-12. Minutes exist from October 1911 through May 1921. A constitution is located at the back of the minute book. Financial materials include receipts, a treasurer’s report, coach fund, and some miscellaneous documents. The first page of minutes is from a group known as the Centennial Athletic Association. It is assumed that the Gustavus Adolphus Athletic Association evolved from this body. Members sought “to promote physical training and to cooperate with the college authorities in the control and management of athletics at Gustavus Adolphus College.”
