GRE 244/344: Homeric Epic: Start

As you work on your Rhapsode project, use the resources on this page to ground and guide your research. While this guide is by no means comprehensive in terms of listing all of the appropriate resources for your work, it highlights major resources in Classical scholarship. Please feel free to contact me (Julie - contact info is below my picture) with any questions.

You will want to consult the Classics Research Guide for more resources.

Online Resources

The field of Classical Studies is a leader in digitizing information & making it freely available. Here's a sample of some online resources that may be especially useful; use the Classics Research Guide Primary Source Materials tab to find additional sites.

Additional Scholarship

Use these resources to access both scholarly and primary source materials.

Recommended Reference Works

Reference books provide overviews of topics, give you ideas for search terms, and often give you recommended readings. Reference works are all found on the main level of the library - Beck Hall side. They are meant to be used in house & can't be checked out. You can scan sections, however, using our scanners.

I love meeting with students and faculty to talk about your research, including any issues you have - or even if you just want to brainstorm. There are lots of ways to reach me. Email me with questions or use the old fashioned phone number below to contact me. Or stop by during my reference/office hours: Wednesdays from 2:30 - 4:30 and Thursdays from 1:00 - 2:30. I'll either be in my office (Library 108B on the lower level) or the reference desk on the main floor.
