Collection Description

Collection of Swedish Royal Visits to Gustavus Adolphus College, 1972-Ongoing.  GACA Collection 400.  ½ Hollinger box and digital media.

ABSTRACT:
The Swedish Royal Visits collection contains programs, schedules, planning materials, correspondence, and newspaper clipping from various visits of Swedish royalty to Gustavus Adolphus College.  The first royal to visit Gustavus was Princess Christina, granddaughter of King Gustaf VI Adolf and daughter of Prince Gustaf Adolf, in 1972.  Gustavus first hosted King Carl XVI Gustaf in 1976 and his wife, Queen Silvia, accompanied him on all subsequent visits.  Also included in this collection are visits royals made to Minnesota in which Gustavus participated.
