Nu Upsilon Gamma. Records of Nu Upsilon Gamma Fraternity, 1910-1981. GACA Collection 99. 1 ½ Hollinger boxes.
ABSTRACT:
The Nu Upsilon Gamma collection consists of minutes, constitutions, programs, clippings newsletters, lists of member names and a wood plaque. In addition, there are records concerning a Washington, D.C. branch of this fraternity called the Bliss Electrical Chapter of Nu Upsilon Gamma. The Gustavus Adolphus College branch began in November 1910 when students formed the Greys, a secret society. Seeking official recognition from the college members reorganized during 1920 into the Gamma Alpha Chapter of Nu Upsilon Gamma. The fraternity continued until the 1990s when it became inactive. Students reorganized in 2001. Most materials date from 1910 through the 1960s.
The collection is organized into two series: Gustavus Chapter, Nu Epsilon Gamma, 1910-1981 and Bliss Electrical Chapter, Nu Epsilon Gamma, 1924-1925.
Series One: Materials concerning the Gustavus fraternity consist of meeting minutes, various constitutions, programs, newspaper clippings, newsletters, and lists of member names contained within the meeting minutes. Folders are organized alphabetically.
Series Two: Documents concerning the Bliss Electrical Chapter of Nu Epsilon Gamma are made up of constitutions, a roster, and correspondence. This material consists of one folder.
