1. Identify a disciplinary research topic to "try out"
2. Plan your keyword search (search terms) and perform a search in at least one of the following three databases:
   1. ERIC
   2. Professional  Development Collection
   3. Teacher Reference Center 
3. Identify a promising article (revise your search if needed). Identify how this article might inform research on this disciplinary literacy topic
4. Determine how to access full text of the article
5. Skim the full article record and the results list. Do you see any other potentially useful search terms or sources?
