Collection Description

Lutheran Minnesota Conference.  Big Stone District.  Records of the Big Stone District, 1923-1962.  LCA Collection 145.  ½ Hollinger box.

ABSTRACT:
The Big Stone District collection contains minutes from district meetings and treasurer’s books detailing district finances.  The Big Stone District of the Lutheran Minnesota Conference of the Augustana Synod was located in West Central Minnesota, Northeastern South Dakota, and Southeastern North Dakota.  The District included parts of Big Stone, Chippewa, Grant, Lac Qui Parle, Renville, Stevens, Swift, Traverse, and Yellow Medicine counties in Minnesota; Brown, Clark, Codington, Day, Grant, Marshall, and Roberts counties in South Dakota; and Richland County in North Dakota.  A small amount of the minutes are in Swedish.
