The library has many databases that can help you find articles relevant for almost any topic. Databases for articles and other materials offer references to publications that may or may not be in this library; some databases offer full text of articles and others simply citations or there may be a mix. There are in-depth databases that cover publications in a particular field and others that cover numerous subjects.
1. Be Flexible. If you do not find a good article on your chosen topic, then you are free to switch topics.
2. Be Curious. The most difficult task is finding a great article that you understand and brings you further in your own thinking. So take the time to find a great article that you yourself find interesting and that you want to share with the class. Do not "settle" for a mediocre article.
3. Collaborate. Consider working with others in the class who have chosen similar topics. You could help one another by sharing great search terms.
4. Dig for Details. Look up the author of your article to see their area of expertise, other publications, leadership experience, etc. This helps to see their impact, standing in the field, etc. Sometimes checking the author can lead you to a stronger scholar in your area of interest.
5. "Goldilocks" (just right) articles. You are NOT required to find a short article. While there is a minimum page limit for this assignment, many articles are often around 10-20 pages. Your selected article can be shorter or longer. The important thing is to find the article that most interests you and brings your thinking further.
