Collection Description

American-Scandinavian Foundation.  Dissolution of Local Chapters, November 1982-October 1984 and March 2000.  CAMC Collection 29.  4 folders.

ABSTRACT:
The American-Scandinavian Foundation dissolution of local chapters collection contains mostly correspondence relating to the decision by the ASF to dissolve all of their local chapters in March 1983.  The correspondence is between the foundation and the local chapter at Gustavus Adolphus College as well as between the foundation and other chapters throughout the country.  There is also a report from the Ad Hoc Committee of the New York Chapter relating to the dissolution decision.

The American-Scandinavian Foundation is headquartered in New York City.  According to their website, they are “the leading cultural and educational link between the U.S. and Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. An American non-profit organization, the ASF works to build international understanding with an extensive program of fellowships, grants, intern/trainee sponsorship, publishing and membership offerings.”
