Collection Description

Lincoln Debating Society.  Lincoln Memorial, 1902-1906.  GACA Collection 37.  3 folders.

The Lincoln Debating Society collection consists of bound manuscripts of a self-produced and self-published journal called the Lincoln Memorial.  Students at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota produced these volumes between 1902 and 1906.  Topics varied between publications and from editor to editor but consisted generally of short stories, humor, editorials, and the comings and goings of the school’s students and faculty.  The collection contains volumes two, five, six, seven, and eight.
