ABSTRACT:
The Adolphi Society collection consists of one ledger containing the group’s constitution, meeting minutes, and membership lists. This literary society was intended for sophomore (second class) students at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota. Members sought to have “free discussion of any subject . . . that is beneficial.” Minutes provide some insight into the group’s activities.
