ABSTRACT:
The Committee on the Status of Women at Gustavus collection consists of the group’s records from 1988-2000.  Materials consist of surveys, reports, correspondence, minutes, and bylaws along with the committee’s charge.  Members sought “to indentify issues and concerns of women on campus,” develop solutions, and provide reports to the President of Gustavus Adolphus College.

Historical Note

According to a brief history of the organization, “this committee was formed in the fall of 1989 as an advisory committee to the President.  The committee formed on the recommendation of consultant Roberta Hall, who submitted a report on the climate for women at Gustavus in September 1988.”
