ABSTRACT:
The Scrapbook of Gustavus Memories collection contains one scrapbook created by C. Lorraine Telander during her time as a student at Gustavus Adolphus College from 1932-1936.  Most photos are of Telander’s female peers and friends, though male students appear in the images occasionally.  Photos of these Gustavus students include professional headshots and casual group images.  Depictions of student’s clothing and appearance as well as the Gustavus campus throughout the seasons are prevalent.  Campus events such as homecoming, sorority initiation, graduation, the Day of Music Festival, and of the Gustavian “Weekly Herald Force” are included.  Scenes campus life include buildings, statues, cars, and the interiors of dormitories.

In addition, there are photos from Telander’s time off campus; these show the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Oace (summer 1935), her time practice teaching in Laffayette, Minnesota (April 1936), and the “Cap and Gown Picnic” at Minneopa Park following her graduation (May 1936).  The backside of a majority of the photos have handwritten descriptions including location, date, and people photographed.
