ABSTRACT:
The Trinity Lutheran Church collection consists of the church’s records from its founding in 1891 through the creation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).  Materials include minutes, service bulletins, event programs, church histories, newsletters, and other less substantial papers.  The church was founded as First English Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. Peter.  It was one of the first congregations in the Augustana Synod to perform the entire church service in English.  The church followed a motto of “the faith of our fathers in the language of their children.”  The church changed its name to Trinity Lutheran Church in 1936.  Trinity Lutheran Church is located in downtown St. Peter, Minnesota.  There are some materials from after the ELCA’s formation during January 1988.
