Nordin, A. William.  Papers of Rev. A. William Nordin, 1907-1950.  LCA Collection 254.  1 Hollinger box.

ABSTRACT:
The Papers of Rev. A. William Nordin collection contains sermon notes and other miscellaneous materials, including clergy fare certificates.  Nordin served as a pastor of the Augustana Lutheran Church from 1920 until his retirement in 1953.  Materials are written primarily in Swedish, and several notes are recorded in English.

Biographical Note

A. William Nordin was born 23 March 1878 in Sweden.  Following his emigration to the United States, Nordin enrolled at the Chicago Theological Seminary and served as a pastor of a Swedish Mission Covenant congregation following his graduation.  He later attended Gustavus Adolphus College and Augustana Seminary.  Nordin married Myrna C. Runskog in 1917, and the couple had a daughter, Linnea G.  He was ordained in 1920 at the Jamestown Synod of the Augustana Lutheran Church and began serving as a pastor to the Fish Lake Lutheran Church near Harris, Minnesota in 1921.  Nordin served the congregation for 26 years before moving to accept a call to a Lutheran church in Orient, South Dakota where he remained until his retirement in 1953.  Nordin died on 15 April 1960.
