Following his emigration to the United States, Nordin enrolled at the Chicago Theological Seminary and served as a pastor of a Swedish Mission Covenant congregation following his graduation. He later attended Gustavus Adolphus College and Augustana Seminary. Nordin married Myrna C. Runskog in 1917, and the couple had a daughter, Linnea G. He was ordained in 1920 at the Jamestown Synod of the Augustana Lutheran Church and began serving as a pastor to the Fish Lake Lutheran Church near Harris, Minnesota in 1921. Nordin served the congregation for 26 years before moving to accept a call to a Lutheran church in Orient, South Dakota where he remained until his retirement in 1953. Nordin died on 15 April 1960.
Some of the sermon notes are grouped with respect to their original organization.
