The Long-Range Program of Parish Education, 1958-1962. LCA Collection 293. 1 folder.
ABSTRACT:
The Long-Range Program of Parish Education collection consists of materials regarding an ecumenical church organization devoted to rebuilding the Lutheran church education program. There were four church bodies in the organization: the American Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Augustana Lutheran Church, the Suomi Synod, and the United Lutheran Church in America (ULCA). Through collaborative planning, these churches aimed to plan curriculum for each age group that would be the same across church bodies. There was a heavy emphasis on Lutheran church summer camps. Included in the collection are publications and reports about the goals and outcomes of the program.
