Illuminated Manuscript Pages, 1190, 1290, and 1400. SCRB Collection 16. 3 folders.
ABSTRACT:
The Illuminated Manuscripts Pages collection contains three pages from illuminated manuscripts. An illuminated manuscript is a document in which the text is supplemented by decorations, such as initials, borders, or miniature illustrations. One page is a palimpsest, which is a manuscript where the original writing has been removed to make room for later writing, but traces of the original text still remain. These pages all contain religious content and are from France and Italy.
