News Reporting Activity

Scenario:  Your group is a team of investigative reporters for the college newspaper. On Monday, October 28, your editor informs you that campus safety received multiple reports overnight of sightings of  werewolf-type figures on campus.
 

Your task:  Your editor asks you to draw up an investigative research plan. The purpose of this plan is to identify possible sources for evidence that will support the reporting in your news article.

Investigative Research Plan Components

Your editor asks you to present a 4-step investigative research plan. 

 

1. Create a list of the primary questions (~3-5) you want to investigate when researching this story. 

2. Generate a list of sources (~3-6) to consult for fact-gathering related to the details of the werewolf sightings.

3. Develop a list of sources (~3-6) to consult for information to contextualize the werewolf event.

4. Create a list of ideas (2-3) for an image to accompany and enhance the news story.
