What are periodicals? The periodicals collection includes resources such as scholarly journals, magazines, and newspapers that are published at regular intervals (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.). The Library provides access to both print and electronic journals (also referred to as e-journals or online journals).
Print journals: The print collection is located in the lower level of the library. Journals are shelved alphabetically by title. Newspapers and the most recent issues of select popular journals are kept on the second floor near the main entrance.
Searching for articles in print and electronic journals:
Loan Period: Print periodicals may be checked out. The loan period is 7 days for faculty, staff, and students.

Student Senate provides access to the Newspaper Readership program for all Gustavus students, faculty, and staff. The program is funded through Student Senate using student activity fees. The program provides access to the following: The New York Times, The Athletic (The New York Times), New York Times Games, USA Today, the Minnesota Star Tribune, and Mankato Free Press. Instructions for registering for access are available on the Student Senate website.
