Resources for Faculty: Welcome & FAQs

A Teaching Library

Welcome to the Gustavus Library! At our core, we are a teaching library. We partner with classroom faculty across all disciplines to help students develop sophisticated research skills grounded in information literacy. Although our collection is designed to support an undergraduate curriculum, we are also here to support your research as best we can. We also rely on your help to build a dynamic collection for students.

This guide introduces many ways we can work together, as well as providing answers to many frequently asked questions (below). We also have separate guides about teaching the research process in various levels and requirements: Teaching Research to First-Year StudentsTeaching Research to Upper-Level Students, and Teaching WRITL Courses.

Above all, we want to build relationships with you. You can work with your liaison librarian or contact any one of us. We look forward to working with you!

Online Readership Program

Student Senate pays annually for the New York Times Education and Library Subscription Program, which gives the entire campus - students, faculty, and staff - access to four newspapers: the New York Times, Star Tribune, USA Today and the Mankato Free Press.  Login directions for the newspapers in the program are here.
