  • Damon Knight Memorial Grand Master Award (SFWA Grandmasters) - a lifetime achievement award given to the biggest names in science fiction and fantasy
  • The Science Fiction and Fantasy Hall of Fame - originally hosted at the Gunn Center for Science Fiction at the University of Kansas and aimed at awarding lifetime achievement by authors living and dead, this event is now hosted by the Museum of Pop Culture in Seattle and honors a wider cast of characters from film and television as well

  • Extrapolation - "founded in 1959 by Thomas D. Clareson, it was the first journal to publish academic work on science fiction and fantasy."
  • SFRA Review - SFRA Review is an open access journal published four times a year by the Science Fiction Research Association (SFRA). SFRA Review was initially titled SFRA Newsletter and has been published since 1971, just after the founding of SFRA in 1970.
  • Science-Fiction Studies - scholarly journal publishing literary criticism of SF from 1973 to the present day
  • Foundation : The International Journal of Science Fiction - an open-access journal started in 1959
  • FEMSPEC - "An interdisciplinary feminist journal dedicated to science fiction, fantasy, magical realism, surrealism, myth, folklore" etc.
  • The New York Review of Science Fiction - A monthly literary magazine founded in 1988, including essays and critical reviews
  • Science Fiction Film & Television - scholarly journal published three times yearly by Liverpool University Press
  • Journal of the Fantastic in the Arts - an interdisciplinary journal devoted to the study of the fantastic in Literature, Art, Drama, Film, and Popular Media.
